Edward (Eddie) Robinson

Eddie is a certified ESL teacher working at Naeyang Elementary School in Guri City. He begins his third year as their English language instructor in 2011. Hailing from the Midwest, Eddie graduated from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA with a B.A. in Sport Science and a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. He came to the HOPE Organization in late summer 2010 as a volunteer for the Suncheon Summer English Camp program. Eddie brings with him two decades of experience as an event director and project manager.

Dale Kim

Dale serves HOPE as Technology Director. He is a graduate of UCLA and was formerly a management consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting and IBM. His work focus is in the venture technology/software field in Asia and the US. Dale has been active in community improvement projects and participating in inner-city educational programs to empower disadvantaged youths. In his spare time, he enjoys music, snowboarding, movies, sports and travel.

Sylvia Soo

Originally from Alberta, Canada, Sylvia moved to Seoul in June 2006. Prior to her move, she completed her Bachelor of Education, English Language Arts Major at the University of Alberta. Sylvia has volunteered with SOS Crisis Line and a local Alberta hospital. She has worked extensively with inner city children through various non-profit organizations and indigenous programs. Since returning to Canada in early 2009, Sylvia has become a face for breast cancer advocacy. She now channels her energy in her new position as West Coast Coordinator for Rethink Breast Cancer.

Maria Salken

Maria moved to Korea from Toronto, Canada where she completed a joint specialist degree in Anthropology and Political Science at The University of Toronto. She was actively involved with programs for disabled children and continues to volunteer with special needs adults. She is currently an Arts and Science teacher in Seoul.

Philip Lozano

Philip received his BComm from the University of Calgary and his BEd from the University of British Columbia. He lived in Calgary, Vancouver and Montreal before moving to Seoul in December of 2006. He has previous experience running and starting a small business while in university and has done volunteer work as a crisis line operator, literacy teacher and has assisted with fundraising for the Kids Help Phone in Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
